Cristie VA 5.3.1 What’s New

Here’s an update on what’s new for the Cristie Virtual Appliance. The 5.3.1 release includes lots of new functionality including Continuous Recovery Assurance for Rubrik VM snapshots.

We are pleased to announce Cristie Virtual Appliance 5.3.1 release which includes new functionality and bug fixes, bringing a wealth of benefits. In particular Cristie Virtual Appliance Release 5.3.1 brings Continuous Recovery Assurance to Rubrik VM snapshots, automatically verifying recoveries within a cleanroom environment for every new backup detected. This provides the confidence that your system recoveries will work when you need them most. 

Cristie Virtual Appliance 5.3.1 Release – Main Enhancements

    • The appliance now offers full integration with AIX and Solaris BMR version 9.3, enabling streamlined estate management, backup, and recovery
    • Rubrik VM snapshots can now be restored using Recover, Recovery Assurance, or Orchestrate
    • Recovery Assurance can now utilise external hypervisors for running recovery tests, allowing you to leverage existing infrastructure and resources
    • Cohesity archived backups are now supported for recovery operations
    • Group your managed systems in Estate Management for simpler organisation and oversight
    • You will now receive an email notification (if enabled) and an event when the appliance SSL certificate is nearing expiry
    • Estate Management now supports SSH keys for Windows authentication
    • SMB traffic between the appliance and Windows source systems is no longer required for deployments
    • KVM integration now supports TLS transport and SASL authentication

Bug Fixes

    • Fixed an issue where web boot ISOs could not be generated when custom SSL certificates were applied to the appliance
    • Disaster recovery configuration retrieval from a Rubrik client with multiple filesets no longer incorrectly fails with No snapshots were found
    • LPAR creation on IBM Power10 systems now works correctly
    • Rebooting systems recovered to Nutanix Prism Central 7.5 no longer results in an unsupported action error
    • HTTP proxy settings are now consistently applied to all Rubrik Security Cloud API requests
    • Cohesity source registrations of the disaster recovery environment are now automatically unregistered once the restore process completes
    • Various minor UI issues and validation improvements
