Novedades del segundo trimestre

Hemos tenido un fantástico comienzo de 2021. Jordan Storford, arquitecto principal de Cristie, nos habla de los lanzamientos previstos para el segundo trimestre.

We’ve had a fantastic start to 2021. Here, Cristie Principal Architect Jordan Stopford talks us through the releases planned for Q2.

‘I’m Jordan Stopford, Principal Architect at Cristie Software. I own the development process and roadmap for the business. Here’s Cristie’s roadmap for the second quarter of the year.

The Cristie Virtual Appliance version 4.1

Our first release of the quarter will be the next, major version of our Virtual Appliance (VA), version 4.1.

The VA is a key part of our product portfolio. It enables centralised management for all the types of machine migration and disaster recovery software that we offer. Using our VA enables our customers to deploy software from a central location easily and quickly – making the process simpler and saving time and hassle.

The VA is a key part of our product offering, and throughout 2021 we’ll continue to improve the features and functionality of the VA for replication and machine mobility.

Version 4.1 of the VA will primarily bring in support for our AIX recovery products; BMR for Avamar, BMR for NetWorker, BMR for Spectrum Protect and our own Cristie BMR

We will also be bringing in direct integration for the IBM Hardware Management Console, so you can recover your backups straight onto LPARs created by the Cristie VA.

BMR products for AIX, version 9.1

Our second release of the quarter will be the next, major version of our BMR products for AIX, version 9.1.

Version 9.1 of the AIX BMR products will bring in support for the latest versions of the third party backup products, as well as wrapping up all of our security patches into a single, major release. This will also be supported by the Virtual Appliance.

Release of BMR products for Windows and Linux, version 9.3

Our third release of the quarter will be the next, minor version of our BMR products for Windows and Linux, version 9.3.

Version 9.3 of the Windows and Linux BMR products will bring in support for recovering backups of systems that contain ARM based processors.

ARM systems are really starting to take off in the datacentre, and are also available as compute resources on several of the main cloud vendors. With this release, you’ll be able to protect your estate using Cristie’s trusted recovery assurance platform.

Minor version of the Cristie VA version 4.2

Our final release of the quarter will be the next, minor version of our Virtual Appliance, version 4.2.

Version 4.2 of the VA will extend support to ARM based systems for backup, recovery and estate management, consolidating the support offered with 9.3 of the BMR products.

We’re also planning another push based around the IBM and Oracle clouds in this release as well, so stay tuned closer to the time for more details!
